Overview

Frederick County 4H Therapeutic Riding provides education, socialization, recreation and therapy to more than 70 riders each spring and fall to Frederick County citizens with emotional, physical and/or mental disabilities.  Students ride for 45 minutes per week for six weeks.   Spring and fall sessions are held on Saturdays at 9, 10,11,12,1,2, and 3pm.; and Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5, 6 and 7pm.

VOLUNTEER TRAINING is April 13, from 9am to noon.  If you cannot attend VOLUNTEER TRAINING, we do “on the job” training.  Arrive 15 minutes earlier than the class you would like to work with.  All of our classes require LOTS of volunteer support.  Come volunteer

WE provide Frederick County, Maryland citizens who have medically certified mental, physical and/or emotional disabilities with equestrian activities to learn basic horsemanship skills, improve physically with better muscle tone, balance and posture, and encourage their emotional well being by building self confidence and self-esteem—the I Can Do It attitude.
